It feels like November has been Black Friday promotion overload, and yet it’s a US thing and Black Friday is one day which occurs on Friday 29th November…

But, I’ve been using the opportunity to get a few Christmas gifts sorted, have you?

Christmas will be here in less than 30 days and the studio will be closing so I can have a well-earned break!

I’ve got some important dates for your diary below plus a little exclusive VIP reward and the latest seasonal gift boxes available from Colour me Beautiful.

On Friday 29 November, I’ll be announcing some exclusive offers.

They won’t be available outside of my email list. Which means, if you’re not on the list, then you won’t get access to them. Only VIPs can access my exclusive offers and rewards as a thank you for signing up to my newsletter.

Studio opening hours

There will be no appointments available between 23 December 2024 and 6 January 2025.

All orders and any last-minute gifts can be collected from the studio up until Saturday 21 December. Please do get in touch as early as possible to ensure your items are in stock and available to avoid disappointment.

During this time, emails and messages will be monitored, but there will be a short delay in usual response times.

Appointments are available to book for 2025 now, so get in touch to secure your appointment date.

Christmas postage

Royal Mail have announced the last posting dates in the UK. Wednesday 18 December is the last posting date for second class post. First class post is Friday 20 December. 

Special Delivery can be arranged for an additional cost to guarantee next day delivery, but all requests must be received in the studio by Saturday 21 December. 

The last day for collection from the studio will be Saturday 21 December. Thanks for your cooperation and understanding.

Gift vouchers and E-gift vouchers

Gift vouchers are available electronically, so there is no need to rely on the post!

Browse and buy online here. Once your payment is processed, you’ll receive a digital gift voucher via email, so be sure to check your spam so you don’t miss the e-voucher!

Physical gift vouchers are available by request from the studio if you would prefer to gift something more tangible. These will be posted via special delivery, unless collection is arranged. Orders will need to placed with me before Saturday 21 December to guarantee Christmas delivery via Royal Mail in the UK.

All gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of issue.

Festive update 2023

The festive season is well under-way and now the Black Friday madness is out of the way, I wanted to use this week’s blog to update you about the festive season.

Studio Christmas opening hours

The studio will close and there will be no appointments available between 22 December 2023 and 4 January 2024.

Emails will be monitored during this period, but there may be a short delay in response. The diary is open for 2024 so do get in touch to secure your preferred appointment date: toni.carver@tlcstyleandcolour.co.uk

Christmas postage

For all gifts (see below for some special packages) and physical gift vouchers for Christmas, please note the following deadline dates apply in the UK.

Monday 18 December is the last posting date for second class post and first class is Wednesday 20 December.

If you’re later than this, it means you’ll need to pay the extra charges for Special Delivery. The last posting date from the studio will be Thursday 21 December. 

Collection is available from the studio but this will be Thursday 21 December. Please do get in touch as early as possible to ensure that any gifts are in stock and available for collection! I would hate for anyone to be disappointed.

Christmas postage and deadlines

Royal Mail strikes have had an impact on stock and deliveries and this unfortunately will continue in the run up to Christmas.

Final postage dates have been advertised and are much earlier than usual. Second class post is Monday 12 December and first class is Friday 16 December. For guaranteed Special Delivery; the final date is Wednesday 21 December.

Of course, there’s no guarantee so it’s best to get organised early and ensure your loved one receives their gift in time for the big day!

Please take these timescales into account for any collections you wish to make from the studio. Collection is free of charge but onward postage is extra. Special delivery is recommended for items of value or if you want to ensure they arrive and not be impacted by any strike action.

All orders from the studio will need to be placed before 11am on Friday 17 December please. Collection from the studio is free of charge but postage is extra. Special delivery is recommended for items of value including any physical gift vouchers you may require for colour, style or image services. The latest date for items requiring special delivery is Wednesday 22nd December.

Party season clothes

The shops are awash with sequins, glitter and luxe fabrics which can only mean that the party season is on the way!

It can feel very tempting to want to shop for something new and if you’re a sucker for a bargain then revisit my blog with tips on curbing your impulse buying here.

That being said, here’s five tops tips for festive outfit shopping:

  1. Choose a flattering shade of colour, especially if you’re wearing it close to your face.
  2. Make sure it fits and flatters your shape. Broadly; if you’re straighter in the body chose boxier shapes and if you’ve got curves then choose fluid fabric that will mimic your curves.
  3. Go with your personality type. If shimmer is all a bit much for you, don’t buy it! Try and look for different fabric or textures to luxe up your look instead – there’s lots of velvet at this time of year too.
  4. If you’re looking to be more sustainable then consider shopping on Vinted, eBay and charity shops for a piece that you can give another life to. Garments don’t always have to be new, just new to you. Also consider using the rental marketplace sites for garments that you can rent for a few days. Read the previous blog on this here.
  5. Know your metal! Gold is perfect if you have a warmer skin tone. If you’re cooler toned then go silver! If you’re not sure or you have a neutral skin tone, pewter or rose gold will be a great option.
